It was the best of both worlds for Orlando City Wednesday night, a win over the Jacksonville Armada, while also giving reserves some playing time.

“We managed to keep six or seven of the regular players out of the game last night,” said head coach Adrian Heath. “When you look at other results it was a good result for us, anybody who changed the team around most of them got beat or nearly got beat so it  was a good night for us.”

While most of the team is healthy and ready to go, Kaka will miss the match as he continues to recover from his thigh injury. Coach Heath described the team captain as ‘struggling’.

“Kaka changes the game a lot when he’s out there and he helps me a lot,” said forward Cyle Larin. “But I think the players that we have we’ll do the same thing as we do every other game, work hard, score goals and defend.”

Although San Jose are 6th in the Western Conference standings the team is expecting a very tough matchup.

“They certainly leave it all out there so we’ve got to be ready for it,” said Heath. “I think we will. We all know it’s going to be a little bit different, a little bit stranger of a day because of the surrounding issues but it’s one that we’re looking forward to.”

One that the team has looked forward to for three weeks now.
