Clearwater Central Catholic High School Senior Quarterback Jakob Parks has been busy this summer.  Parks has nearly 20 college recruiting visits and football camps under his belt in hopes of securing more scholarship offers (he currently has a firm offer from Eastern Kentucky).  Yet, Parks remains laser-focused on the result he wants with the Marauders this fall.

CCC has made the state semifinals the last four years.  But, Parks says “this year…you know, expectations…we're gonna win a ring.  I don't care what it is.  I will fight my heart off and so will they”.

Parks understands that to win a state championship, it starts with better footwork, improved accuracy with his passes, and a strong mental game.  Marauders head coach and former University of Miami offensive lineman Chris Harvey agreed and also said that Parks “has a good working knowledge of what he has around him.  He’s a guy that has a lot of weapons.  And, the best thing he can do and the best thing he has done is be able to get the ball to the right people at the right times”.

Harvey also wants to see Parks let the game come to him.  And, Parks is doing that under center.  But with just one scholarship offer, Parks is taking a more aggressive approach to playing at the collegiate level.  He said “my dad and I took it ‘to go’ and to approach any college that doesn’t have a 17 commit or has heard about me but not truly, doesn’t truly know what I do.  Telling them that I’ll win, that I’ll do whatever it takes to play college football”.
