If you aren't familiar with Lakeland superstar James Robinson and are a college football fan, you might want to get to know him.

He is one of the hottest recruits in the country.  He is a four-star senior. Five stars if you listen to Rivals.com.

According to 247, he is ranked sixth in the nation at his position and 42nd overall in the class of 2017.

He is back from his recent trip to The Opening in Oregon.  The Opening is four days of training for the country's top 150 high school football players.  James Robinson is one of them.

"The competition level was great," said Robinson about the showcase.  The 6-3, 195-pound wideout traveled out west for the first time to attend.

He made a spectacular one-handed grab in single coverage which Hudl deemed the top play of the event.

"I knew there would be a lot of talent," said Robinson.  "So, I had my mind set as show where I'm from. Show where the football's been. When I got there it wasn't easy, so I had to maneuver and get my way. I came out okay."

He finished on the 7v7 2nd-team offense.

Robinson is back "where he is from" in Lakeland, but not for long.  He is planning to attend the Gators "Friday Night Lights" recruiting event this Friday.  He also said visits to Ohio State and Alabama are in the works and that he gained a ton of knowledge to bring with him on the recruiting trail.

"Things I learned was to be coachable and how to run my routes properly," said Robinson.

He has 37 reported offers to date.  Robinson said that a relationship with his head and position coach will play a large role in who lands this blue-chip recruit.
