The 2016 Hillsborough County Boys Soccer Player of the Year can now add one more accolade to his list of accomplishments.  Top Team Soccer has named former Jesuit Midfielder Connar Lufkin to their 2016 All-America team, an award he was shocked about but grateful for.

“It's very humbling. I honestly wasn't expecting it.  One of my friends tagged me and was like ‘you're an All-American’.  That’s amazing to join a list of the few who've gone to Jesuit and gotten All-American”.

Jesuit High School head soccer coach Eric Sims said Lufkin has never been concerned about individual accolades, but that Lufkin truly deserves the recognition.

“I think he's just demanded more of himself.  To score nine goals in the playoffs was a huge accomplishment for him and for our team.  I think that’s a Jesuit record. When the game's on the line, he's the guy you want.  He’s a person who isn’t bothered by the pressure.”

Lufkin will be playing soccer this upcoming season at Jacksonville University, and said he's looking forward to his first road trip- when Jacksonville takes on the University of South Florida on September 8th in Tampa.
