After leading the league in drops in 2015 all eyes are seemingly on  Bucs WR Mike Evans every day.

An otherwise nondescript Buccaneer training camp Day 2, but QB Jameis Winston and Evans did have a couple nice long connections. It's a chemistry, that going back to the owners meetings, first year head coach Dirk Koetter says has to exist.

"Mike got a lot of balls thrown his way today," said Koetter.  "You could really see Mike going out of his way to look it in."

"I think he probably read all you guys (media) reports how he dropped that first ball in warmups. Probably had some choice words for ya'll ‘cause you're watching every single drop he has. Keep watching. He gets a lot of balls thrown at him every day."

"It was a down year I'd say," said Evans when asked to evaluate his 2015 where his touchdown number dropped to three from 12 the year prior.  "I mean I said that in the spring. The good thing is I get to do something about it. This year you'll get a better Mike Evans."

“We're kidding ourselves if we think we're never going to drop any balls," said Koetter.  "I found in my career the worst thing you can say to a guy when he drops the ball is - don't drop the ball."

Bringing back the same offensive scheme, for a change, may help as well and not only Evans. The continuity with Jameis Winston is a boost for everyone. Even, WR Vincent Jackson entering his 12th season. He says he's healthy after knee injuries held him to just 10 games and 3 TDs in 2015.

"I had a great complete offseason with our OTAs," said Jackson when asked how he feels.  "So I'm just excited. I'm ready to get through a great training camp, continue to build on the fundamentals and prepare myself as best I can."

When asked if he thought his team is flying under the radar early Dirk Koetter said that's for us the media to talk about. He did take extra time to praise the military in attendance for giving us the freedom to live the lives we choose.

Saturday the stands should be packed again for the first practice open to the public, which starts at 8:45 a.m.
