The Tampa Bay Tech offense simply cannot be stopped.  The Titans scored at least 49 points for the fifth straight game, coasting to a district-clinching win over Durant, 55-28.

Tampa Bay Tech improves to 5-0 in 7A District 9.  Their win coupled with Bloomingdale's 36-29 victory over Plant City means the Titans have won back-to-back district championships for the first time since 2009 to 2011.

There were plenty of offensive contributors for the Titans, highlighted by Tennessee commit Michael Penix, Jr.  The senior QB earned Player of the Game honors, finishing with 241 passing yards and four TD.

Senior Evan Lewis had six receptions for 83 yards, including two TD catches, while freshman Myron Scott had his first career 100-yd receiving game.  Scott finished the night with 118 receiving yards, including a 50-yd TD.  Tyrese Hall was the recipient of Penix Jr.'s final TD pass.

The running game was strong for Tampa Bay Tech as well.  Treshaun Ward rushed for 116 yards and a TD while Jaquavious Johnson scored three times and finished with 59 yards.  The Titans recorded some impressive team offensive stats - they finished 9-of-10 on 3rd down conversions and scored touchdowns on eight of their first nine possessions.

Durant got off to a great start though.  The Bay Area's leading rusher, Cameron Myers, burst through the left side for an 80-yd TD on the first play of the game.  Myers ran for 273 yards and three TD.  His backfield partner David Tabakovic pounded his way to 78 rushing yards and a TD.

The Cougars fall to 3-2 in 7A District 9 (6-2 overall) and will have to hope for one of four wild card berths into the 7A Region 3 playoffs.  Tampa Bay Tech (6-1) looks to extend their winning streak to seven games on Monday vs. Sickles before their final district game on Friday next week vs. Plant City.
