Carrollwood Day falls short of title goal as FAMU earns its program’s sixth crown Thursday night at the Lakeland Center, 46-37.

After trailing by as many as 16 the Patriots opened up the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run that cut the lead to five.

From there on the Baby Rattlers (22-9) experience and poise took over to finish off the young Carrollwood (28-3) team, scoring the next five.

FAMU and head coach Ericka Cromartie earned their third consecutive state championship, first in 3A.

Baby Rattlers were led by 8th grader Erin Turral who had 15 points and eight steals, Lakrista Walker finished with 10 points.

Patriots post players Nabaweeyah McGill (12pts, 12rbs) and Tarriyonna Gary (10pts, 9rbs) most effective in the 3A loss.
