The Lakewood Spartans were back in the Final Four for the first time since 2013.

But the Lady Spartans weren't just happy to be there.

Lakewood imposed their game on Ponte Vedra for a 74-59 win in the Class 6A state semifinals. The Lady Spartans will play defending national champs Jacksonville Ribault on Saturday for the 6A title. Spectrum Sports will carry the action LIVE at 12:30 p.m.

Lakewood fell behind in the first quarter, but started a long run near the end of the first. Jaylynn Presley capped off a 9-1 run with a three pointer to give the Lady Spartans a one-point lead. They would increase that lead to 10, but Ponte Vedra fought back to tie it up at 30-all at the half.

Lakewood opened the second half with an 11-0 run to retake the lead 41-30. Aided by the Sharks turnovers, Lakewood turned them into 34 points. Led by Zariyah Daniels' 15 points and Paris Williams and Samantha Douglas, who each had 14, the Lady Spartans controlled the fourth quarter to close the game out.

Lakewood will play for their third state title on Saturday.

They won in 1989 with coach Necole Tunsil leading the way on the court. Tunsil guided them to a second title in 2011.

Standing in the way this time, 11-time state champs and defending national champions Jacksonville Ribault.
