The largest classification took the court on Friday at the Girls Basketball State Championships.

The Class 9A semifinals featured two Central Florida teams, one with state title experience, the other in the Final Four for the first time.

Wekiva and Olympia were looking to extend their stay at the Lakeland Center. First up in the 9A state semifinals, 2014 state champs Wekiva taking on Ferguson.

The Lady Mustangs scored the first points of the game within the first minute, then didn't score again until 1:32 to go in the first quarter.

A 13-0 run by Ferguson gave the Falcons a big lead they would never relinquish. A 6-3 run by Wekiva in the third finally put the Lady Mustangs in double figures, but it wasn't enough.

Ferguson advanced to Saturday's championship game with a 52-33 win. Brierra Williams led Wekiva with 12 points.

In the second semifinal, Final Four first timers Olympia took on Boca Raton. Just like Wekiva, Olympia scored the first points.

But unlike the Lady Mustangs, the Titans were able to keep it close....for a while. With the Bobcats in foul trouble, Olympia pulled within seven in the third, but that's as close as they would get. Boca Raton won 58-45.

Brianna Richardson led Olympia with 14 points.

Ferguson and Boca Raton will play for the 9A title Saturday at 3 p.m. Spectrum Sports will carry the action LIVE on Channel 1147.
