Eckerd College played host to forty of the top basketball players in the Tampa Bay area as the Hillsborough County All-Stars faced the Pinellas County All-Stars.

In game one of the Spectrum Sports doubleheader, the Hillsborough County Girls All-Stars topped the Pinellas County Girls All-Stars 71-61.

Plant’s Payton Paro led Hillsborough in scoring with 13 points.  She was joined by Tampa Catholic’s Alise Davis who provided 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Player of the game Alyssa Nieves of Brooks-DeBartolo poured in 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

For Pinellas, Palm Harbor University’s Julia Ingram led the team in scoring with 12 points.  Lakewood’s duo of Samantha Douglas and Zariyah Daniels scored 11 points and 8 points respectively.  Palm Harbor University and Arizona signee Kiana Chew registered 7 blocks.

In game two, the Pinellas County Boys All-Stars used game-winning free throws from player of the game Darius Banks to seal a 103-101 victory.

St. Pete High’s all-time leading scorer Darius Banks scored an aggressive game-high 18 points (6-8 FT).  He was joined by Lakewood’s Tyrese Hurst, Clearwater’s Gene Culver and Boca Ciega’s Trevor Carrier who each scored 11.

For Hillsborough, Hillsborough Terriers guard Bryce Morgane led all scorers with 14.  Sickles’ star Bryce Beamer scored 12.  Bloomingdale’s lights-out shooter Drew Bethoney scored 9.

Wharton’s Dae’son Barnes won the 3-point shooting competition.  Plant City’s Tarik McKelphin won the slam dunk competition.
