Lakewood Ranch, the top ranked Florida team in the nation, showcased why they deserve the No. 5 ranking from FloSoftball in their 11-0 win over Rockledge in the first game of the 25th Annual Kissimmee Klassic doubleheader.
Senior pitcher Logan Newton went four innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 10 to improve her record to 8-1 on the season. The Mustangs scored four runs in the first inning and added seven more runs in the third, highlighted by junior Madi LoCastro's grand slam, her third homerun on the year.
Lakewood Ranch improves to 16-1 on the season while the Rockledge Raiders fall to 15-3 in the matchup of top ten teams.
