Despite the match not being an MLS contest, Orlando City head coach Jason Kreis was still disturbed over what he saw Wednesday night.

"This is the most disappointing night I've had since I've been in Orlando," Kreis said after the Lions were topped by NASL side Miami FC, 3-1, in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup tournament. "I take 100 percent responsibility for the result and for the performance.”

It was the first game in the tournament for Orlando City, as MLS squads join the U.S. Open Cup field in the fourth round. Miami FC extended their unbeaten streak to 10 with the win.

Miami scored twice in a five-minute span in the first half on goals by Stefano Pinho. A goal in the 55th minute would give Pinho a hat trick and put Miami FC on top 3-1.

Gilles Barnes' header off a corner kick by Carlos Rivas in the 79th minute was the only goal for the Lions.

Several regulars weren't in the starting lineup for Orlando City. Kaka, Cyle Larin and Joe Bendik were all left out of the starting XI. Kaka entered the game in the 63rd minute. Josh Saunders made four saves in goal.

Orlando City returns to MLS play for the first time in nearly two weeks with a home match against the Montreal Impact on Saturday night.
