The University of South Florida's turnaround last season was one of the most impressive in college football.
The Bulls, mired in a 1-3 start in September, went on a 7-1 run to close the season, returned to bowl action and closed out the year 8-4. The strong finish has set expectation higher this recruting season and into next year.
USF is hoping a recruiting class anchored with two 4-star recruits among its 15 commits helps in its pursuit of an American Athletic Conference title. (Oral commitments are not binding):
Darnell Salomon WR 6-3, 210 lbs.
Game-changing receiver out of Miami Central. A 4-star recruit, Salomon scored 8 TDs in 2015 while helping the Rockets tp a fourth-straight state title.
Craig Watts DB 5-10, 181 lbs.
USF's other 4-star recruit, the Bulls have high hopes for Watts as team plans reshuffling of defense under new coordinator.
Glen Bethel OT 6-6, 300 lbs.
Juco transfer from Arizona is an early enrollee in Tampa and a behemoth at 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds.
Armunz Matthews CB 5-10, 195 lbs.
Speedy corner from North Florida Christian in Tallahassee had 20+ offers, including Oklahoma, LSU and Wisconsin.
Christion Gainer OT 6-6, 280 lbs.
Another solid lineman creating an impressive OL haul for the Bulls.
