Signing Day across Florida netted a wide range of results as college across the state mined talent from Pensacola to Miami and other points as well.

For some, it was about reloading on talent.

For others, it was new coaches trying to salvage a recruiting class.

Florida State again leads the pack among state schools with a solid class among the ESPN Top 10 nationwide. Miami and Florida were not far behind, checking in among the top 15.

Meanwhile, USF and new coach Charlie Strong closed strong on signing day and UCF had a solid class led by an out-of-state quarterback.

The Seminoles signed 22 recruits, including a dozen 4 or 5-star players. FSU snagged the fourth-ranked (ESPN) player nationally in DT Marvin Wilson from Houston Episcopal High School.

Among the Bay area recruits inked by Florida State was Decalon Brooks from Gaither, the son of former Seminoles linebacker and Bucs Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks. The top recruit in the Central Florida area, Daytona Beach safety Cyrus Fagan, signed early and will participate in spring practice in Tallahassee.

In Gainesville, the Gators made splashes on both sides of the ball, signing all-time Hillsborough County leading rusher Malik Davis from Tampa Jesuit and a 4-star defensive end in Hillsborough's Zachary Carter - along with late get James Robinson from Lakeland.

UCF's class of 22 players featured 14 players from Florida, including Sanford Seminole WR Gabriel Davis. But the Knights' biggest get may be dual-threat QB Noah Vedral from the state of Nebraska.

The Miami Hurricane's class was half Florida prospects, half from across the nation. Miami did sign two quarterbacks Cade Weldon (Tampa Jefferson) and N'Kosi Perry (Ocala Vanguard).

USF's class included six 3-star rated players including Lakeland DE Jabreel Stephens.

Also, Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Florida Atlantic and Florida International all welcomed new recruits.
