Mark Royals, Football Expert
Mark Royals, a 15-year NFL veteran, is a football expert for Bright House Sports Network. You can see him providing analysis of the weekly high school football Game of the Week.
Since retiring in 2003, Mark has been busy with various media outlets, including Buccaneer Pre-game radio shows, and numerous television pre- and post-game shows.
After spending four years trying to make an NFL roster, the fifth time around was the lucky break he had been waiting for. Signing with the Bucs in 1990, Mark finally realized his dream of playing professional football, a childhood dream from the age of eight!
After stops in Tampa, Pittsburgh, Detroit, New Orleans, Tampa for a second time, Miami and Jacksonville, Mark retired in the Bay Area, where he shares an Odessa home with his wife of thirteen years, Kim, along with daughters Brooke and Katie
To go with broadcasting, Mark is also a motivational speaker and has several business ventures, including public storage and a sports nutrition line. While playing in the NFL gives so much, none are more important than the numerous charitable opportunities that have become a staple of Mark's life.
Some of Mark’s programs he is involved in are the FCA, All Pro Dad's and Family First, reading programs for youth, child neglect and abuse. Mark is willing and available to use his platform to try and make a difference. When trying to relax, you'll find him either at the beach enjoying all water sports, or on the golf course where he carries a 5 handicap. Mark lists riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle as one of his most enjoyable activities.
