When Diana Cuellar got off the elevator on the third floor of Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel’s Wellness Center, she didn’t know where she was.

  • Facility brings all women's services into one location
  • Bay Care Hospitals also adding concierge services

"I feel like I just walked into a high-quality spa to get an ultrasound done,” Cuellar said.

The hospital opened its new "Inspiration Place" in October. It has brought all women’s services to one place, making it easy for women to schedule all their annual appointments on the same day and in the same place. An OBGYN, breast surgeon, urologist and endocrinologist work on the floor alongside an all-female staff.

And if that doesn’t do it for you, then how about the attached spa that offers massages and facials in-between or after appointments?

“We want to make sure women treat themselves, take care of themselves physically, make sure they are where they need to be and then take care of that soul and nurture themselves a little bit,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, CEO and President of Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel.

Inspiration Place also has a coffee bar and boutique area.

Florida Hospital is just one of the local hospitals seeing a greater push for concierge services. Bay Care Hospitals have also added amenities for their female patients, such as aromatherapy for women in labor, new-patient take home meals and special delivery services that offer spa bathrobes, slippers and luxurious toiletries.

Studies show women are the drivers when it comes to consumer choices, and hospitals want to be their first choice when it comes to healthcare.

“I think that the trend is more towards that boutique experience, spa-type of experience and we want to give that to our guests as much as we can,” June Vinyard, Nurse Manager at Florida Hospital Tampa, said.

Florida Hospital offers their new moms things like special meals, birthday cake and baby gifts.

“It’s hard for the moms and especially first-time moms, so all the extra support has been helpful,” said Jennifer Laun, who gave birth to her son Jace on the 17th.
