The guest list for President Donald Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night features people with a wide range of political viewpoints, diverse backgrounds and various ages.

Trump will hold his first joint address at 9 p.m. Every member of Congress is able to bring a guest to sit in the gallery. The president also has several guests sitting with the first lady.

Sometimes those guests are important luminaries. Sometimes they are guests who benefit from a particular program or are emblematic of an issue the lawmaker is working on.

Florida's lawmakers picked their guests on hot topics such as immigration and health care.

Here's the guest list for five lawmakers in our area.

1. Christine Leinonen

One such attendee will be the mother of one of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting from last year. Christine Leinonen's son was one of 49 who died June 12, 2016.

She is the guest of Central Florida Rep. Val Demings, D-Orlando.

Demings is highlighting several topics she disagrees with the Trump administration. One topic is the approach on how to reduce gun violence and the other is the controversial travel ban.

"The president, I understand, has been using Orlando as an example for his travel ban,” Demings said. “But there again the person who did the harm and broke the hearts of 49 plus families was born right here in the United States."

Another Central Floridian affected by the Pulse tragedy has been invited to attend by Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Winter Park. Dr. Marc Levy, a surgeon who worked to save Pulse shooting victims, has called for more research into gun violence.

2. Oliver Hess

Another student from Shorecrest Prep in St. Petersburg will be attending as a guest of Rep. Charlie Crist, D-St. Petersburg.

Oliver Hess, 14, has been working to help to resettle a refugee family from Syria as part of his annual passion project at school. Oliver sent a letter to Crist, who said he was impressed.

We talked to Hess about his work.

3. Colin Cagle

Lutz Martinez Middle School student Colin Cagle wants to go into politics. He'll be a guest of Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor.

On Monday, Colin and his family toured the Capitol building and other Washington D.C. landmarks. He said one of the most exciting parts of this experience is to meet the people who make the government run.

“I think it'd be real cool to meet Paul Ryan and I would really like to meet my representatives from my state and Reince Priebus," Colin said.

Colin attended several rallies during the election season and went to the inauguration. He said he really admires the President's convictions.

"All of his campaign promises are being fulfilled straight out and he's only been in there for a month,” Colin said. “And I like how he says what he wants to do and he doesn't sugar coat it."

4. One of the DREAMers

Rep. Darren Soto, D-Kissimmee, invited an undocumented immigrant brought to the country as a child. The young man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has since graduated from the University of Florida with a political science degree.

Now he says wants to help other DREAMers fulfill their own American dream.

5. Kathy Palmer

The Affordable Care Act is expected to be a big part of Trump's address Tuesday night. Kathy Palmer of Tampa will be the guest of Rep. Kathy Castor, R-Tampa.

Palmer had insurance through the Affordable Care Act. After she went to the hospital with extreme chest pains in December, she only had to pay $179, rather than the $70,000 bill she could have had.

She said the act allowed her to get health insurance, something she couldn't get through the two small businesses she worked for.
