The new SkyConnect trains are on the way to Tampa from Japan. Airport officials tweeted an image Wednesday of the trains being loaded onto a huge freighter.
A key part of the airport's massive $953-million redevelopment, the trains will move passengers 1.4 miles from a new rental car facility tp the long-term parking garage.
The trains were loaded this week onto a ship in Japan, where they were built. They are expected to arrive in the Bay area in about a month.
The people movers are expected to be operational at the airport sometime next year.
