Pasco County officials are now cracking down on illegal dumping and they're turning to social media to get people involved.

They say clean-up is as easy as snapping a picture.

Couches, tires, and trash bags are some of things that can be found on the side of roads.

County Commissioner Mike Moore said he's had enough. That's why he's asking for the public's help to crack down on illegal dumping.

"At times it can be unsafe, what these people are dumping out there. We find things like couches to old refrigerators, carpet, tile, old contracting materials," Moore.

Now, Pasco County is making it easier to report unwanted trash on the side of the roads. All you have to do is take out your phone and download the 'My Pasco App.'

When you open up the app, the first thing you'll see is "report illegal dumping."

It will automatically pick up your location, then you can add a photo and submit the report -- and it can be done anonymously.

The county is also working more closely with the sheriff's office on punishing those who are caught dumping illegally. Charges can range from a misdemeanor to a third degree felony.

You can also post the photo on social media using the hashtag - RidPasco.
