Since Thanksgiving, the Ocala Jockey Club in Marion County has been the host venue for the inaugural International CIC3* 3-Day Event.

  • First year of the 3-day Eventing competition
  • More than 120 competitors are participating
  • A shared $100,000 prize purse

More than 120 competitors are participating in the event which features three disciplines including dressage, cross country and show jumping.

"Eventing is a triathlon, in simple terms, with a horse," said organizer Richard Trayford.

Riders from all over the world are participating, including a few gold medalists like Leslie Law.

Law won the gold medal in Eventing in 2004 and a year later moved to Ocala.

"This is a world class venue and hopefully we can keep this in Ocala because this could be something major in this sport," said Law.

There's a shared $100,000 prize purse.

Admission is free but there is $10 parking fee. The event runs through Sunday.
