Lake County's school board has five finalists to replace the soon-to-be leaving Superintendent Susan Moxley, and the board will discuss the choices on Monday.

The school board will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5 at the district office on Burleigh Boulevard in Tavares.

The board will discuss the candidates recommended by an advisory committee, develop candidate interview questions and schedule interview meetings.

Two of the five candidates for superintendent come from Florida school districts. The others come from Georgia, Iowa and Maryland.

They are:

  • Arthur "Rob" Anderson, Ed.D., Deputy Superintendent of Academics at Fulton County Schools in Georgia
  • Diane Kornegay, Deputy Superintendent at the School District of Clay County in Florida
  • Mark Mullins, Ed.D., Deputy Superintendent / Chief Operating Officer at Brevard County Public Schools in Florida
  • Quintin Shepherd, Ph.D., Superintendent of Linn-Mar Community School District in Iowa
  • Gerald "Jerry" Wilson, Ph.D., Superintendent of Worcester County Public Schools in Maryland
