A child was killed and several other people were hurt after two vehicles were involved in a crash Tuesday in Leesburg.

The crash happened near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Fern Drive, according to Leesburg Police.
A Ford SUV and a Ford Taurus were involved in the crash.
Lt. Joe Iozzi, with the Leesburg Police Department, said one child was killed at the scene.
Eight people were inside one vehicle and one person was in the other. Three people were airlifted from the scene, and all others were driven via ambulances to hospitals.
No other information was immediately available. Charges are pending, Iozzi said.
