An investigation is underway into a deputy-involved crash, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Deputies were stopped on side of the road to help motorist
  • Passing truck side-swiped one deputy vehicle, then hit the other
  • The driver was cited by FHP

On Friday, two Lake County deputies were stopped along U.S. 27, near Golden Eagle Boulevard, helping a stranded motorist when the crash occurred.

According the Florida Highway Patrol, a passing pickup truck with a trailer side-swiped one deputy’s car before hitting the other.  

A lawn mower on the truck's trailer ejected and hit the second patrol vehicle.

Both deputies were taken to South Lake Hospital for precautionary treatment, according to authorities.

The stranded motorist was transported to Celebration Hospital for minor injuries.  

The driver of the truck was cited by FHP.
