On any given day, you’ll find employees of Craters and Freighters of Greater Orlando building crates for shipping anything from priceless art to airplane parts.

Big or small, they move it all.
But now, there are some extra special items in the warehouse, waiting for a trip to the island of St. Thomas in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
Jan Bailargeon and her husband Stan own Craters and Freighters.
She grew up on St. Thomas and since the hurricane hit, she and her husband have vowed to do all they can to help the people there.
Bailargeon personally survived two hurricanes while living on the island and through technology, she experienced Irma, virtually.
“Hurricane Irma happened during the day and so people were, those who had cell service, were posting on Facebook throughout the day which was unbelievable to experience it with them while it was happening,” she said. “In real time.”
When the transmissions stopped because of the power outages a light went on for Bailargeon and she told her husband they had to do something and a supply drive was born.
“We are just trying to do what we can to get these supplies that people need, just everyday necessities. Um, food, water, bug spray, baby diapers, wipes, formula,” she said. “Adult diapers, personal hygiene items. All of the basic necessities that we take for granted.”
The supplies have been pouring in and moving out.
“We have sent two shipments so far over 8,000 pounds of supplies and we have a warehouse full of supplies that are ready to go,” she said.
Bailargeon said they are not collecting money, but they could use help from other shipping companies who could help move the palates of supplies to the docks in Ft. Lauderdale.
