The search continues Tuesday morning for two men connected to two separate homicides in Sumter County.

The first crime was reported by a 16-year-old girl.

She told Tavares Police Department that 35-year-old Larry Darnell Peavy attacked and sexually assaulted her and her 16-year-old friend.

When investigators arrived at the rental home on Sunday, they found the friend dead, officials stated.

Investigators are now searching for Peavy, who was last seen driving a gray 1997 Nissan Sentra with a Florida tag number 2295UJ.

Peavy has a lengthy criminal history. He was previously charged with possession of cannabis, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

The second, separate crime happened near The Villages.

A car was set on fire and 29-year-old Joel Aaron Curry was found dead nearby.

Deputies have not named a suspect in that case.

"It's an isolated area, it's a dead end road and it's a long wooded drive way where he was at. So, we don't know if he was taken out there. We don't know all the circumstances yet," said Capt. Pat Breeden of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say the two murders are not related.
