Investigators are working to piece together how a student died after she was found in her dorm room near University of Central Florida.

The University of Central Florida Police Department has identified the student as 19-year-old Alyssa Michelle Lewis, who was found dead in the living room at the Lake Claire apartments.

Police say most of the people living in the dorms have already cleared out because move out date for Winter Break was on Sunday.

However, Lewis was a resident assistant and could stay. Her family became concerned when they did not hear from her.

"We got a 911 call from some family members who had found a student and they called police. We arrived within one minute but there was very little we were able to do," said Courtney Gilmartin, a UCF Police Department spokeswoman.

Officials do not suspect any criminal activity in Lewis's death. UCF Police and Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies do not believe the death is suspicious. There were no obvious signs of self-inflicted wounds or foul play.
