A Lake County man reportedly shot his daughter and wife just after midnight Saturday.

  • Police say Charles Green, 53, shot his family
  • Wife and daughter expected to recover
  • Green was charged with two counts attempted murder

According to the Leesburg Police Department, Charles Green, 53, was arguing with his wife and daughter when he pulled out a handgun to end the dispute.

Police say wife and daughter told them Green fired without warning.

When officers arrived at 1614 Crest Avenue, they found the daughter, whose name and age have yet to be released, on the ground, bleeding. She told them Green still had her mother trapped inside.

Police say they were able to quickly take Green into custody. When they entered the residence, Green’s wife had already been shot multiple times.

The wife and daughter are expected to recover.

Green was charged with two counts of attempted murder. Since the firearm he used, police say, was stolen, he was also charged with grand theft.
