Frito-Lay is voluntarily recalling some of its jalapeño-flavored potato chips.

The recall was issued due to the possible presence of salmonella in the seasoning, the Food and Drug Administration said.

The decision comes after a supplier recalled is seasoning blend which includes jalapeño powder that could contain salmonella.

The seasoning was used in these products:

Jalapeño flavored Kettle Cooked potato chips (all sizes) and jalapeño flavored Miss Vickie’s Kettle Cooked potato chips (all sizes). The products have a “guaranteed fresh” date of July 4 or earlier.

Jalapeño Cheddar flavored Lay’s Kettle Cooked 40% Less Fat potato chips are not affected by the recall.

Multipacks with a “use by” date of June 20 or earlier are also affected:

  • 12 count Lay’s Kettle Cooked Multipack Sack
  • 20 count Frito-Lay Bold Mix Sack
  • 30 count Miss Vickie’s Multipack Tray
  • 30 count Lay’s Kettle Cooked Multipack Tray
  • 32 count Miss Vickie’s Multipack Box

Other flavors included in the multipacks are not part of the recall.
