Many Central Florida counties celebrated higher school grades Wednesday.

The Florida Department of Education issued grades for more than 3,000 schools across the state. State officials say "A" grades grew by 7 percent, while the number of "F" schools dropped dramatically.

In Central Florida, seven out of nine counties had no failing schools. Orange County had five, all charter schools, rather than traditional public schools. Marion County had two.
Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Sumter and Volusia all had more A grades this year.
Brevard and Seminole counties received "A" school district grades. Marion County's school district got a "C." Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Sumter and Volusia counties all got "B" grades for their school districts.
