A passenger was killed in a head-on collision Sunday morning in Lake County.

The crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. at SR 44 and CR 42.
Troopers said an SUV was traveling eastbound on SR 44 when the vehicle, for an unknown reason, traveled into the westbound lanes and hit a Hyundai head-on.
The passenger in the SUV, Jay Sanders, 27, of DeLand, was ejected from the vehicle and died on scene.
The driver of the SUV, Lauren Luckie, 26, of DeLand, was taken to Halifax Medical Center in serious condition.
The driver and passenger in the Hyundai were taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
