A new exit ramp off Interstate 4 opened on Friday and it could affect the morning commute.

The change affects the Exit 90 ramp to westbound Maitland Boulevard off I-4 west.

The change comes shortly after the exit onto the off ramp. This will affect the commute if people coming from Seminole County to Orange County.

As drivers are coming off the ramp, if they go to the right they will head to Lake Destiny.

But if drivers veer to the left, they will head to Maitland Boulevard.

Drivers get off I-4 at the same place, but the decision on which way to go after they exit comes a third of a mile sooner than it used to.

“The ramp does not change, but be alert much sooner and always stay alert. Be alert in construction zones is very important, traffic patterns change often and conditions change,” said Jessica Ottaviano, public information specialist at Florida Department of Transportation.

The new ramp change is part of the I-4 Ultimate Project that has been going on for about two years now.
