A homeowner has shot and killed a person who was trying to break into his Clermont apartment early Sunday, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
At around 3 a.m., deputies arrived at the Raintree Apartments at 1305 Raintree Bend, to find a resident had shot a person, according to authorities.
The homeowner explained that an unknown number of people were trying to break into his apartment and he shot one of the people, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital, deputies stated.
Lake County Sheriff's Office detectives are interviewing three other people of interest, officials stated.
