Thousands spent the night without power in Central Florida and powerful storms moved through the area.

  • Strong storms went through Central Florida Tuesday afternoon
  • Power outages, some damage in the Winter Park area
  • No injuries

And this morning, the cleanup begins as trees were uprooted from strong storms during Fourth of July festivities.

The bulk of the damage was in the Winter Park area.

Several trees were ripped out of the ground near apartment complexes off Orlando Avenue. Also, a Midas Auto Shop sign was smashed.

Some trees even fell right next to a power pole. Even some traffic lights were knocked out.

Thousands were without power across Orange and Seminole counties as a result of the severe storm. Power was restored later in the day.

There were no injuries reported.
