An elderly man was struck and killed by a SunRail train on the tracks Thursday night.
Orlando police say the man tried to cross the tracks near Orange Avenue and Wilkinson Street and did not make it all the way across the tracks before he was hit.
The man, William Milligan, was just a few days away from his 85th birthday. He had been diagnosed with dementia in 2012, but police did not say if that was a factor in him trying to cross the tracks in some way.
