Ten handlers and their dogs spent a few hours in the airport's Terminal B.
Southeastern Guide Dogs is a nonprofit organization that raises, trains and provides guide dogs to veterans with PTSD and people with vision impairments.
Volunteers, also known as puppy raisers, take puppies in and train them for their new owners.
When puppies are 10 weeks old, they are taught basic obedience and then they are socialized.
“We take them for train rides, we take them to the mall,” said Mike Cliburn, a volunteer with Southeastern Guide Dogs. “We try to exposed them to as many situations as we can while we have them, so when they get place with a blind person or a vet, they won’t freak out when they get to a new situation.”
Southeastern Guide Dogs is always looking for volunteers to foster guide dogs.
