A bicyclist was struck and killed by a SunRail train Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at Longwood Lake Mary Road and Ronald Reagan Boulevard at about 3:19 p.m. and involved a southbound train, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and transportation officials.

The bicyclist, identified late Monday as Stewart Lashley, 70, of Orlando, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash has shut down SunRail service, and buses were brought in to shuttle any southbound passengers trying to get to stations between Lake Mary and Sand Lake Road.

Troopers were investigating the scene.
