A man was arrested Thursday after a woman said he raped her, according to Ocala Police.

A Marion County deputy told an Ocala police officer he saw a woman running from the direction of the Shamrock Motel on South Pine Avenue.
The deputy said the woman told him she had been raped in the bed of a pickup truck by a man she met at a nearby pool hall. She said the man also grabbed her by the throat and threatened her life.
According to the deputy, the woman was crying and trying to cover herself with a blue tarp. The woman also had bruises on her body, stated the deputy.
The deputy and the Ocala police officer went to the hotel and found 47-year-old Alexander Harvey.
Harvey told investigators that he and the woman met at Downtown Billiards and later left together.
When asked what happened in the truck, Harvey said he did not know how to answer the question.
Harvey was arrested and charged with sexual battery with force.
