  • Other students affected by chemical spay were treated

A school resource officer reported a fight between two students at 9:19 a.m.

The officer tried to break up the fight, but when the students would not comply with commands, he used chemical spray, police said. The spray had no effect on the fighting students, so the officer used a stun gun, according to OPD.

The two fighting students were arrested.

Students who were around the fight were affected by the chemical spray, school officials said.

Five of them, including the two who were arrested, were treated by firefighters at the scene. Other students may have been treated by school personnel, police said.

An OPD investigation is underway, which is standard procedure when an officer uses chemical spray or a stun gun, police said.
