A robot that can open doors? They exist!

Boston Dynamics has introduced a new robot that can turn a handle, open a door and even hold the door open for others.

The company posted video of one of the robots, the SpotMini, opening a door and holding it open for a second robot.

Boston Dynamics' website describes the SpotMini as a "small four-legged robot that comfortably fits in an office or home." It can pick up and handle objects. A video of the first generation SpotMini had the robot putting a glass in a dishwasher and picking up trash — and slipping on banana peels.

The video has spurred a flurry of reactions on social media, with people in awe.

Earlier this year, Boston Dymanics showed us Atlas, a robot originally created for the U.S. military that can do backflips.

Softbank acquired Boston Dynamics earlier this year from Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
