It was another very warm day across the Sunshine State, with temperatures running around 10 degrees above seasonable levels well into the 80s.
- Highs in the 80s
- Unseasonably warm week
- Sunshine, warm weather to continue
Our pattern doesn’t look like it’s going to change over the next couple weeks thanks to a stout ridge of high pressure, so look for generally dry conditions and highs in the 80s through the end of February.
High pressure remains entrenched across the southeastern U.S., giving us an east to southeast flow and bringing in a very warm airmass.
Some Atlantic moisture was actually picked up and squeezed out in a couple isolated showers in Brevard County, but the rest of us basked in sunshine mixed with clouds and highs in the 80s.
Patchy dense fog is in store overnight, especially as you travel north and west of the I-4 corridor. The southeast breeze kicks up to around 10 to 15 mph Tuesday making it feel a touch more on the humid side, and under a mix of sun and clouds, our highs will climb back into the 80s area-wide.

This large ridge of high pressure won’t budge and will keep the jet stream across the northern tier of states into our weekend, thus a very similar forecast right into next week. Any isolated showers will stay generally off-shore and may occasionally brush the coast.
East coast beaches were busy Monday! For those of you planning a little surfing trip, poor to surfing conditions are with us the next couple days with a rising easterly trade swell and wave heights around two to three feet.
We still have a bit of a long period swell, so a moderate rip risk is also expected. Make sure you are swimming near an open lifeguard stand.
