There will be more sun, more warmth, and more of the same the next several days in Central Florida.

The only difference Thursday was a sky occasionally hazy with smoke from a number of brush fires burning. We need rain, as we’ve seen abnormally dry conditions develop over Central Florida in the latest drought map.

We’re all running a deficit in the rain gauge, and the only showers we have in our forecast the next several days will be isolated in nature and won’t provide relief.

We may squeeze out an isolated shower or two overnight thanks to a deep, onshore flow and Atlantic moisture working toward the coast.

Rain chances remain a low 20 percent tomorrow and Saturday, otherwise expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 80s. We’re dry Sunday, then see a return of rain chances again Monday and Tuesday.

An east-southeast trade swell mixed with an east-northeast swell will push up the four to five foot waves in our surfcast Friday, so overall conditions look poor to fair.

We’re still seeing a long-period swell which aides in a moderate rip risk along the east coast. Sea surface temps have warmed into the upper 60s and lower 70s, and our daytime heat will continue that trend.
