Star Wars: Galactic Nights will feature a new projection show when it returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios next month, Walt Disney World announced Monday.

  • Star Wars: Galactic Nights: Dec. 16
  • New projection show, panel discussion
  • Warwick Davis will be official event host

The one-night, after-hours event will be held Dec. 16, a day after “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is released in theaters.

The new projection show, Star Wars: Galactic Destinations, will take place in the Sunset Boulevard area of the park. Moments from the “Star Wars” films will be projected on the Hollywood Tower Hotel while the franchise’s score plays. The show will use the same technology Disney debuted earlier this month for Sunset Seasons Greetings, a holiday-themed projection show.

In addition, Warwick Davis (“Willow,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”) has been tapped to host the event. Actor David Collins will moderate a panel discussion called “Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” featuring members of the Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm teams.

The 14-acre themed land, which is under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is slated to open in 2019.

Other event activities include Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular, a fireworks show; “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away," a stage show; and a DJ at Center Stage.

There will also be character meet-and-greets, photo opportunities and Star Wars-themed food.

A separate ticket is required for Star Wars: Galactic Nights.
