An upcoming space movie starring Ryan Gosling will film some scenes on the Space Coast.

  • "First Man" will film scenes at Kennedy Space Center
  • Casting call is looking for Central Florida extras
  • Movie stars Ryan Gosling, Kyle Chandler, Claire Foy

“First Man” will film on location at Kennedy Space Center next month, and extras are needed.

Casting directors are looking for men and women 20 years of age or older for a variety of roles.

Catrett Locke Casting shared the requirements for extras on Facebook.

Filmmakers are trying for historical accuracy, so actors should have hairstyles that match the time period in which the movie is set.

It's open to all ethnicities.

Filming is set to take place on Feb. 14.

“First Man” is based on the book “First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong” by James R Hansen, and follows Armstrong's journey to becoming the first human to walk on the moon.

The movie stars Gosling as Armstrong, Corey Stoll (“Ant-Man”) as Buzz Aldrin, Claire Foy (“The Crown”) and Kyle Chandler (“Bloodline”). Damien Chazelle (“La La Land”) directs.

Although Florida doesn't offer incentives for film and television productions, a few movies have been shot at KSC in the past.

Movies include “Apollo 13,” “Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon,” and Disney’s “Tomorrowland.”

“First Man” is slated to hit theaters Oct. 12.

Bonnie King, film commissioner of the Space Coast Office of Tourism, talks about the film:
