Universal Orlando has raised ticket prices, less than a week after Walt Disney World announced a ticket price hike.

Ticket prices vary by season, but a one-day adult ticket to a single Universal Orlando park on a "mixed season" date has increased $5 from $110 to $115.

For a two-park "mixed season" ticket, which includes Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, the price also increased $5 from $165 to $170.

Prices for peak-season, one-day tickets, called "anytime season" dates, remain at $124 for a single park and $179 for two parks.

One-day tickets to Volcano Bay also remained unchanged at $67. Universal Orlando's "water theme park" opened last year.

Universal has several major projects in the works: a "Fast & Furious"-themed ride called "Supercharged," slated to open sometime this spring; a Nintendo-themed land; and two new hotels tentatively coming in summer 2019. It recently bought a chunk of property off Sand Lake Road, according to Orange County documents.

The move comes after Disney World raised prices on tickets to its main parks, including annual passes. The theme park operates tiered pricing, which means prices will vary depending on the time of year.

Several major attractions are coming to Disney World over the next couple of years, from Toy Story Land in several months to two new coasters in the works to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a new “Star Wars”-themed land, scheduled to open in 2019.

Disney's theme park division is its most lucrative, generating $1.3 billion in operating income, according to its most recent earnings report.
