After being down by as many eight points at the half, Osceola clawed its way back to turn the tables on Wellington on a last-minute buzzer-beater, 52-50.

The Kowboys (28-2) opened up the third quarter scoring three straight buckets to force the Wolverines (27-4) to take a timeout.

Sophomore point guard Josh Marte’s three pointer at the 1:20 mark would give the Kowboys the advantage, 39-37 in a contest that saw 13 lead changes.

With 42.3 left on the game clock, Coach Nate Alexander called a timeout to draw up the play - something the team had been practicing all week.

Osceola burned 35 seconds off the clock before Marte lobbed a pass inside to senior Tevin Florent for the off-balanced game winner.

Marte led the attack for Osceola scoring 20 points and dishing out five assists. Florent netted 13 points and added eight rebounds while Omar Payne pulled down 10 boards.

Osceola will face a familiar foe in Wekiva in the championship game Saturday at 8 p.m. That game will be televised live on Spectrum Sports Channel 1147.
