Both Stephanie Gibson (Winter Park head coach, 17th season) and Cameron Stevens (Timber Creek head coach, 6th season) stated that they would most likely have to go through each other for the district title.

In a matchup of bitter rivals, the Winter Park Wildcats overcame the scrappy Wolves of Timber Creek in four sets (25-22 TC, 25-20 WP, 25-18 WP, 25-16 WP).

The Wildcats (10-2) hosted the rival Wolves, looking to bounce back from two tough losses in an Orlando tournament to Olympia and Apopka. Winter Park decided to play in the tourney, going 2-2, without holding any practices due to the effects of Hurricane Irma.

6'1" junior Emily Jordan and Spectrum Sports Player of the Game Parker Jordan powered through the tough Timber Creek frontline to secure the victory for Winter Park. With the victory, the Wildcats have a 13-9 record against Timber Creek since 2005.

Despite valiant efforts from FAU Beach Volleyball commit Jackie Farris and team captain Jenna McNamara, Timber Creek falls to 5-2 on the year.
