KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- It's 5 o' clock everywhere at the newly-opened Margaritaville Hotel at Margaritaville Resort Orlando.

  • Island-inspired hotel opens at Margaritaville Resort Orlando
  • Hotel features 184 rooms, dining, a spa, pools and more
  • Part of larger resort that will include water park and shopping complex

The tropical-inspired hotel, located just off U.S. 192, held its grand opening ceremony on Wednesday. The 184-room hotel features dozens of amentities, including casual and upscale dining options, a spa, lagoon-style pools, and clubs for kids and teens.

Inside the lobby, visitors will find chandliers made of margarita glasses, Jimmy Buffett quotes on the walls, chairs inspired by bird cages, a giant flip flop, and plenty of parrots decor. It's like walking through an island getaway.

The island theme continues in the guest rooms, which range from standard rooms to the much larger deluxe king suites. The color scheme includes whites and blues. The wall are adorned with paintings of palm trees, the ocean and flip flops. Some of the fixtures in the rooms look like shutters. Rates start at $199 per night and go as high as $1,300 per night.

As far as food options, Margaritaville Hotel has something for everyone. Just off from the lobby is Euphoria, the hotel's upscale dining option which includes a bar and menu of seafood and grilled dishes. For something a little more causal, there's the On Vacation Cafe, which serves burgers and nachos. For quick, grab-n-go options, there's Provisions which sells sandwiches, salads, wraps and snacks. The poolside bar, Salty Rim, serves up burgers and margaritas.

The hotel is just one part of the larger $800 million Margaritaville Resort Orlando, which will include a water park, a shopping complex and residences that can be purchased called cottages.

Just a short walk from the hotel is the site of the Island H2O Live! water park, which is scheduled to open this spring. Sunset Walk, a Disney Springs-esque complex will eventually boast 35 retailers and restaurants. Burger-Fi and Rock & Brews are currently open, with Cold Stone Creamery, Bento Asian Kitchen & Sushi, and Studio Movie Grill set to debut in the spring.
