ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened on April 22, 1998, making it 22 years old.

  • Disney offers ways to celebrate Earth Day at home
  • It's also Animal Kingdom's 22nd anniversary
  • Activities include recipes, quizzes and instructional videos

To commemorate the park’s anniversary as well as Earth Day, Disney World is offering a variety of ways fans can celebrate at home since the parks are closed.

Dozens of activities are available and range from plant-based recipes to games and quizzes.

Recipes are available for cookie fries, quinoa salad and maple-bourbon roasted brussel sprouts.

Most of the activities are available on the Disney Magic Moments website, which features other “at-home" content from Disney. But other activities like the Earth Day Neighborhood Safari, are available on the NatGeo@Home content hub, which features educational resources. The site offers daily talks with real-life Nat Geo Explorers, videos showing you how to draw animals and more.

Disney has also launched video series called Wilderness Explorers at Home, which is available in the My Disney Experience Mobile app.

Disney World has been closed since mid-March and will remain closed until further notice.
