ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Day one back at Disney World still feels like a dream for Osceola County teachers Caitlin Casavecchia and Brittany Reinsel.

Passholders were invited to preview Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom ahead of their public reopening. Casavecchia and Reinsel, who were among the passholders able to reserve a spot, spoke to us from one of Magic Kingdom’s “relaxation zones,” where you can take off your mask.

"Everyone is so friendly like, "Hi welcome home!" I just feel like I'm back with my friends that I haven't seen in so long," Casavecchia said.

Casavecchia said wait times haven't been too long and getting through Disney's new temperature check and bag screening was simple, but some things were different.

"They had us take water bottles and umbrellas out of our bags to go through the security scanner," Casavecchia said.

The pair’s bus ride from the parking lot to the parks has social distancing in mind.

"When we talked up, they had numbers on the ground and they were asking you how many were in your party and assign you to a number, and that number corresponded to the seat you would sit in on the bus," Casavecchia said.

Casavecchia said personal hygiene is apparent at attractions, as Disney implements safety precautions during the coronavirus pandemic.

"I didn't see them sanitizing the ride, but they did have hand sanitizer right before you sat down and again right when you got off," Casavecchia said.

When we asked if they feel safe at Disney World:

"I feel safer here than I do going to Walmart, to be honest with you. Everything Disney does is over the top, and this is no exception," Reinsel said.

Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen to the public on Saturday, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.
