ORLANDO, Fla. – Universal Orlando remains silent about the new roller coaster that’s taking shape in the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure, but a new arrival has created some chatter online.

What You Need To Know

  • Construction continues on Universal's new coaster

  • Raptor statue arrives at construction site

  • Universal Orlando has not officially announced the coaster

In a video posted to Twitter by Orlando Informer, a large raptor statue is shown arriving at the construction site.

The statue, which was still wrapped, was hoisted over the coaster via a crane.

Meanwhile, construction continues on the coaster even though Universal has offered very few details—at least officially. However, there are plenty of clues as to what the theme of the coaster is going to be, including the dinosaur icons on the construction walls.

The unannounced Jurassic Park coaster is one of the few Universal projects still moving forward. Earlier this year, NBCUniversal executives said construction had been paused on Epic Universe, the new theme park set for Orlando.

Universal reopened its theme parks in early June with new measures in place, including reduced capacity. In the weeks that followed, Universal has made a few operational changes such as reducing park hours and temporarily closing several attractions as it deals with the financial impact of the ongoing pandemic.
